Chesney Hawkes
Chesney Lee Hawkes (born September 22, 1971, in Windsor, Berkshire) is a British pop singer, songwriter, and actor. With famous parents Chip’ Len Hawkes (ex tremeloes) and Carol Dilworth (actress & hostess) Chesney was always destined for success. Married to Kristina they live just outside London with their son, Casey and two daughters Jesse and India.
Chesneys’ career began at nineteen, when he appeared as the title character in the film Buddy’s Song. Shortly after this, he released his most famous single "The One And Only", from the film’s soundtrack which was released in March 1991. The song was later featured in the opening credits of Doc Hollywood (1991), starring Michael J. Fox. The single spent five weeks at No. 1 making it one of the most successful single of the 90’s!
Chesney has had a dedicated core fans who have ensured his continued success as a touring artist, whilst he has continued success as a songwriter for many artists, such as A1, Caprice, Tricky and Nik Kershaw.
More recently Chesney has been seen in Channel 4’s The Games in March 2005, in which he won a Bronze Medal. He also took part in the ITV programme ’Hit Me Baby One More Time’ in April that year. He released a new single called "Another Fine Mess" in May 2005. During 2006 Chesney has been busy on a national tour.
Chesney is a keen supporter of 4Children and very genorously presented the 4Children National Childcare Stars Awards in 2005 at the Globe Theatre. Chesney says “As a proud farther of three I know how important my family is to me and that is why I support 4Children as they are dedicated to creating opportunities and building futures for all children and families throughout the country”
